When you think about Utah County. Your first thoughts are probably BYU, Huge Families and Jello. Here are 5 examples why golf should be top of your list.
5) Cedar Hills- I know some of you golfers are wondering. What? This reasonably priced course. Offers some of the best views of Utah valley, you will find anywhere. I loved the layout of the course. They made it challenging enough to keep you interested, and wonder why you still play this game. All at the same time.
4) Fox Hollow (Tri City)- This course holds a dear place in my heart. It being the course I learned the game on. With long narrow fairways, and challenging greens, prepare for a roller coaster ride. But if your anything like me, and love roller coasters. This course is a must play.
3) Thanksgiving Point- I've heard a lot of different opinions on this course. That it's not very scenic, and just kinda bland. Or they loved the course, and its one of the best in Utah. I'm right in the middle on this one. It's a good course and fun to play. My biggest hang up is the price. But if you go in the fall, they do have great deals. (If you can handle the cold.)
2) Sleepy Ridge- I'm a huge fan of this Links style course. With a massive new club house, and brand new Carts with GPS. This course will make you feel like your playing on a country club. With all these new additions. The prices have stayed the same. Which are very reasonable. At 6:30 every night, they offer a twilight special. Which is $10 walking, and as many holes as you can get in. The bugs do come out. So don't forget your spray.
1) Hobble Creek- A classic course in Utah County. Located in Hobble Creek Canyon. This course gives you the feel of being out in the middle of nowhere. But only a few minutes away from Springville. This course has some of my favorite par 3's, so make sure your irons are on. With not to much water, and a lot of trees and poison ivy. Try to stay on the fairways
I'm sure Riverside, and Alpine country clubs, are right up there. But I have not been lucky enough to play those just yet. If I get a chance. I will make sure to post something on them.
